We often find that no matter how silly we try to make a scene to make fun of a particular type game, theres often a legit example that's even more ridiculous.
Case in point, in Golden Sun there's the Iris summon which flings enemies INTO THE SUN and throws them back on earth.
I dont even know why we still try.
Honorouble mention goes to the Planescape Torment spell Abyssal Fury where demons beat up your enemies off screen and everything shakes like a Looney Tunes cartoon.

This will seem like a lot of complaining but I'm trying to be constructive here.
Alright the, on we go. You seem to have a problem with your joke.
I mean to say it changes over the course of the comic, you seem to be unsure of what you are trying to say.
First you imply that the unicorn guy is either very strong or that his weakest spell is something very strong.
Then it changes to the spell takes a long time to cast (it takes 7-9 panels)
Then you continue with the idea that the spell takes long to cast (the wizard already finished the job) but never deliver the punchline.
After that you say that the dragon likes showing off implying there's a joke with the summon.
Finally in the description section you talk about the summons in Golden Sun, which (I might misunderstand) is you complaining about over the top/very long spell animations
I mean they are still powerful spells and at the beginning of the comic you talk about casting the weakest spell which is kind of contradictory to what the spell does and the joke you tell by the end.

The main joke isn't as punchy as it could be and gets a bit lost in some of side jokes.
The joke started as: JRPG spells look very impressive which doesn't necessarily reflect their power/usefulness. It's more that we think they cross over into silly territory, not that we're complaining about them.
We try to fit in background jokes in most comics to make them all enjoyable from an athmospheric point of view (in case the punchline is not that strong or if you dont personaly find some of them funny).
I sometimes come up with lines to justify gamey behaviour in-world; as in: why does the animation last so long? It's cause the dragon is a big show-off.
While the main joke was supposed to be the length and ridiculousness of the spell, we did feel the need to add those last couple of lines/last panel, to have a conclusion and show that the animation is annoying to the summoner as well.
